I have added some new links tonight--including one about supporting local businesses in New Orleans and another about the Schumacher Society. I tried to also attach a link to an NPR article about the Society under "Articles."

Today I remembered a beautiful magazine I picked up this summer in Santa Fe that showcases organic and local food--growers and producers, chefs. It's called edible Santa Fe, and can be found online at www.ediblesantafe.com. It's one of several magazines for cities and regions around the country, and each magazine features articles and ads about many other local businesses. I've added a link on this blog to the site that shows all of the quarterly magazines.

In the course of researching another blog/business idea, www.weebelocal.blogspot.com, I have been accumulating websites about various ways to support locally-grown, locally-made and locally-owned. It occurred to me that it might be useful for others to have all these links in one place. That is, if you want to find ways to support all things local. There is a great movement happening that champions LOCAL, but it seems scattered or left to one focus such as food or shopping local businesses. In the meantime, I am eager to begin my research on the economics of local.
